Café 29 is a modern, stylish Café Bistro conveniently situated in the heart of Bishop Auckland town centre, in the historic Fore Bondgate area. The new café-bistro is housed in one of the oldest buildings in the area. Originating as a reputable Grocery, it is packed with history, dating back to at least 1881. The building has recently been lovingly renovated and restored retaining some of its original features to create a unique experience where traditional meets contemporary!

With comfortable and stylish surroundings and a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Café 29 is a great place in which to meet friends, relax and enjoy great food. We are family friendly and passionate about providing fantastic flavors using quality, local and seasonal ingredients to create something for all! By day we are a relaxed café bar serving breakfast, lunch, snacks coffees wines and beers, and by night a bistro serving dinner from our fabulous evening menu. Or you are welcome to just chill out with a drink in our comfy seating area!
We are proud to be parent and child friendly and offer disabled access and facilities, ample parking is available just 1 minute away.

Café 29 is also available for private hire, catering for special occasions and celebrations including birthday parties & christenings.
We are also an ideal venue for business functions, meetings & lunches with our upstairs seating area having capacity for up to 42 people
